Raised running the bayous of South Louisiana, Shane spent a decade in the U.S. Marine Corps — Aviation Ordnance Technician in Pohang, South Korea, then Embassy Security Guard in Haiti, Hungary, and Algeria. He came home in 2014. What started as solo runs in a 17-foot Sea Chaser grew, over ten years, into American Gulf Fishing Charters — founded in 2025.

Before You Book

Common questions

What’s included?
A captain and crew, rods, reels, tackle, and bait. We’ll clean and bag your catch at the dock — bring your own cooler for the ride home.
Where do we depart from?
We depart from Fourchon Marina, 288 Flotation Canal Rd, Golden Meadow, LA.

You can park in front of the large pavilion. The boat will be in a slip straight ahead. The marina has a store where you can find drinks, snacks, coffee, restrooms, and more.
What should I bring?
Your Louisiana Saltwater Fishing License, sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, a hat, a valid ID, and snacks and drinks (no glass bottles). Comfortable clothes and shoes with non-marking soles. On the overnight, bring food and something warm for sleeping under the stars.
How many people can come?
Every trip is private — your boat, your group, up to 6 anglers, nobody else aboard.
Is fuel included?
No — fuel is calculated after the trip based on actual consumption and paid at the dock. We’ll give you an estimate before departure: roughly $300–500 for a half-day, $600–1,200 for a full-day.
Do I need to bring a cooler?
Just for your catch — bring a cooler for the ride home. Ice is available at the marina. Drinks and snacks can go in a regular bag; we’ll transfer them into the boat’s cooler for you.
Should I tip the crew?
It’s never required, but always appreciated. A 15–20% tip to the captain at the dock is customary for great service.
Do you allow kids on your trips?
Yes — we love taking kids fishing. Bring comfortable life jackets for them; we carry the required children’s survival vests on board for emergencies, but they’re not the most comfortable for a full trip.
Do I need a fishing license?
Yes — every angler needs their own Louisiana Saltwater Fishing License before the trip.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 7 days before your trip. After that, it’s free only for unsafe weather, captain-related issues, or extenuating circumstances.
